Puerto del Carmen sits on the coast of southern Lanzarote just a 10-minute drive from Arrecife Airport. Originally a small fishing village, it now offers six-kilometres of golden beaches. The old harbour remains today and is packed full of excellent restaurants and a beautiful buzz of local life.
The beaches are considered to be some of the most tranquil in the Canary Islands and offer a prime location for windsurfers and divers to explore beneath the Atlantic.
The island caters for all with activites including cycling, go karting and golf all available in town. The nightlife offers clubs, bars and casinos and more than 100 restaurants in the surrounding area.
The villa in Los Majones is just an eight-minute walk from the old harbour but gives you complete escapism from noise and the daily island life.
Lanzarote is covered with soil rich in Volcanic ash. This black ash almost destroyed farmland on the island, however over the centuries it has become a blessing offering a great base for growing olive oil and grapes harvested for wine. With fresh local catches landed everyday in the old harbour, it’s a great location for discovering different cuisines and for wine connoisseurs to sample something different.
